Preparing a five-year water-efficiency plan

• Current and planned water use
• Existing efficiency measures
• Targets and measures to achieve them
• Staffing, funding, technology and other resource needs
• Training needs and arrangements

Approval and annual monitoring

Under Article 6, the five-year implementation schedule is entered into the information system and submitted for Ministry approval. Implementation results are monitored and entered annually. If targets are at risk, revise the plan and submit it for approval.

A usable action matrix

For each action record the baseline period, meter boundary, unit, target, responsible team, budget and completion period. Separate inventory, submetering, pressure control, reuse, training and annual review work packages. Compare absolute consumption with consumption per unit of production or per user where relevant. An increase in production can increase total volume even when specific consumption improves.
